WIP: Concentration

Just wanted you guys to see what I've been working on this last month in my AP Digital Art class! This semesters' goal is to produce 12 pieces that tell a story/centralize around a theme/show some sort of progression of time, so I decided to draw Strike and Divide as they grew up! Each drawing will be during a month of their first year of life (i.e. piece #1 is their first month [they're being allowed to leave the den, with protective mother Topaz behind them], piece #2 is their second month playing with mom, etc.)

Although I absolutely hate doing backgrounds before I finish the characters' lines and colors, my art teacher wanted me to because he wants to check my composition skills. Honestly, it's lame because I'm very confident in my composition ability (in a non-braggy way, I just know that I have an eye for movement/spacing/positioning in a piece, and it's just something I'm good at), but, he's my teacher, so I do what he asks.

I hope you guys like these! They're so fun to work on, and I'm learning a lot anatomy-wise that I didn't think I needed help on. And I've been using a TON of references, because my baby wolf anatomy is shitty And I wanted to make sure I drew them growing in the right way(s) that woofs do from puphood

#1: The pups allowed to leave the den for the first time, with mother Topaz sitting behind them.
#2: Strike and Divide playing with Topaz in a meadow!
#3: The babies on a snail hunt! It's a slow chase, but they're collecting a fair amount of evidence.
#4: The two dorks are playing together! And Divide is finally coming more out of her shell and being more playful than she used to be.
#5: The sibling pair are faster now, and starting to crave the hunt! They've moved on from chasing snails to hares, although they probably won't catch anything for another month. And Strike's fur is getting fluffy as ever.

I also have month 6 and 7 sketched, but I haven't done any backgrounds on them yet, so they didn't really belong here. Plus, my art teacher only wanted me to do backgrounds on the first 5, so the rest of them, I'm doing my own way.

Although, these backgrounds were super fun; I pained all of them except for #4, and that's pretty new for me! I usually block in backgrounds, not paint them
